Eighties! Eighties!! Guess what I have to play now... Thanks, T. Not like I have work to do or anything...
I was thinking of you when the Killing Joke came up. I figured it would be right up your alley. Oh, and you're welcome! Wish you could come Tiki with us tonight!
Would love to come tonight... bad timing, though...
Guilty pleasure number 467: The Waterboys, birthplace of World Party - one of my faves...
How are The Waterboys a guilty pleasure? They are just a pleasure. One of the best live shows I ever saw was a Waterboys show at some venue in the north end of London. I'm sorry, but American crowds suck in comparison to British crowds. Those people know how to get their rock on! The whole room was a sea of bouncing dancing people. And sing-alongs that put us to shame. Terrific show and a highlight in my memory. Can I go to England NOW?
Oh, and World Party? One of my favorite driving and singing bands. You don't want to be in the car with me though. Figure it this way. If my voice was any good at all, I certainly would have been in a band by now.
I'll take the whole damn list. I got up and danced just thinking about "The Whole of the Moon."
Every once in awhile I am convinced "Come On Eileen" is the greates song of the 20th Century.
Maybe it is, Grant.
I used to take a ton of shit for listening to The Waterboys. Same goes for James. I didn't care. I loves 'em!
Btw, I think our iPods were separated at birth...
Wonder Twin powers activate!
Love that list too Tenacious S. The Waterboys showed up on mine this week too.
And that Queen show is about to open in Toronto. I work with the lead girl's mom. I'm not sure how much ass kissing I'll have to do get tickets comped.
Ah, Queen, it's like Roccoco rock and roll.
Nice list. Definitely approve.
I've recently discovered Twisted Sister by looking through my boyfriend's old records. I think I was a bit young for them during their hayday - I now see they are very cool tho!
I found this really funny track of them at reading in 1976 - I posted it on my blog if you're interested, I think you might like it.
Like your blog.
