CP, I have a tribute lined up for you this weekend. It may even be a two-fer! Lulu has already had some infuence, although no official tribute.
Echo, I haven't even begun to scratch the seething surface of roc-kihn roll for stalker songs.
Maybe we need to have Stalker Fridays...
Stalker Fridays are very cool with me. Rock is full of disappointment followed by rage and other unseemly emotions.
Does anyone know why the US marketed them as "Yaz" intead of "Yazoo"? I have always wondered, and today even Google is not telling me. Maybe the US marketers thought the name was too stupid, or maybe there was some trademark issue?
There was a trademark issue. Apparently, there was a band in the US called Yazoo.
They could have gone the Charlatans route and become Yazoo U.K....
When my friend Rodney was stoned he used to tell me I looked like Alison Moyet. I did not think this was a compliment, so I chose not to believe him.
He was stoned.
Much like the English Beat were only "English" in the US, in the UK, they were simply the Beat.
